Travel comfortably from Madrid to the western Algarve with a private transfer from Madrid to Lagos.
Your driver will collect you directly from your hotel, apartment or another accessible address in Madrid and take you to your chosen hotel, villa, apartment or accommodation in Lagos.
The direct journey is approximately 690–705 km, and usually takes around 8 hours 15 minutes to 8 hours 45 minutes, depending on traffic, road conditions, comfort breaks and the exact pick-up and drop-off locations.
Because this is one of our longest private road transfers, regular comfort breaks are recommended during the journey.
Unlike travelling by bus, train or combining several different transport connections, a private transfer allows you to travel directly between your accommodation in Madrid and Lagos without station changes, luggage transfers or fixed departure schedules.
Our Madrid to Lagos transfer is suitable for couples, families and groups travelling with luggage.
It is particularly convenient for travellers combining central Spain with the western Algarve who prefer the flexibility and privacy of travelling directly by road.
Depending on the number of passengers, you can travel by Sedan, MPV or private Van, with larger and premium vehicle options available when required.
Your transfer includes:
✓ Private vehicle exclusively for your group
✓ Professional driver
✓ International door-to-door service
✓ Standard luggage included
✓ Child seats available on request
✓ Air-conditioned vehicle
✓ Comfort breaks during the journey
✓ Flexible pick-up locations in Madrid
✓ Drop-off anywhere accessible in Lagos
Madrid to Lagos is a long-distance journey, making it particularly suitable for travellers who would like to transform the transfer into a private road trip through Spain and Portugal.
There is more than one possible route towards the Algarve.
For sightseeing, we recommend two main alternatives:
Extremadura & Alentejo: Trujillo · Mérida · Évora
Central Spain & Andalusia: Toledo · Córdoba · Seville
These routes provide very different experiences and should normally be considered alternative itineraries, rather than trying to combine every destination in the same journey.
There are two particularly strong ways to transform this transfer into a sightseeing journey.
Route 1 — Extremadura & Alentejo
Trujillo → Mérida → Évora
This is the most natural sightseeing corridor for the more direct journey towards the Algarve.
You can visit one destination or combine two according to the available time.
Trujillo and Mérida provide two complementary Extremadura experiences, while Mérida and Évora create a strong Spain–Portugal historical itinerary.
Route 2 — Central Spain & Andalusia
Toledo → Córdoba → Seville
This alternative itinerary is significantly longer than the direct journey but creates an exceptional private road trip through several of Spain’s most important historic cities.
Toledo provides a strong first cultural stop, while Córdoba and Seville create a major Andalusian heritage experience.
Possibly, but we would not normally recommend mixing several destinations from both route options.
For example, Toledo + Mérida + Córdoba + Seville would involve substantial additional driving and create an exceptionally long itinerary.
For a comfortable journey, we recommend selecting one geographical route and then choosing the sightseeing stops that best match your interests.
If you would like a completely customised itinerary, contact us and we can assess the route and travelling time.
Your journey is private.
If you would like to visit another town, restaurant, monument or attraction between Madrid and Lagos, contact us before booking.
